We’re always reminiscing about our hometown of Whitley Bay. Nights out down South Parade and a pining for a Thursbay (IYKYK) created a teenhood in the town spent well. This was one of the first pieces we designed - we couldn’t not start with the Whitley Bay Est. 1901 Sweatshirt, because Whitley is where we started our lives. Designed in North Shields (because we emigrated far) and finished with high-quality embroidery, it’s soft, durable and made for everyday comfort.

The official history of Whitley Bay goes like this... the town got its name in 1901, after years of confusion with Whitby further down the coast. By then, the railway was already bringing visitors from Newcastle for days beside the sea, helping Whitley grow into a popular seaside resort. St Mary’s Lighthouse and, later, the Spanish City became local landmarks, cementing Whitley Bay as one of the North East coast’s most recognisable towns.

Crafted from a cotton-rich blend with a brushed fleece interior, this sweatshirt delivers warmth and softness that lasts. The classic crew neck and relaxed fit make it perfect for layering or wearing on its own - ideal for walks in the town or a casual weekend look.
