Our beanies are made to order, because we think good things are worth waiting for (and making only what’s actually wanted is a bit kinder to the planet).

We’re always reminiscing about our hometown of Whitley Bay. Nights out down South Parade and a pining for a Thursbay (IYKYK) created a teenhood in the town spent well. This was one of the first designs we created - we couldn’t not start with Whitley Bay Est. 1901, because Whitley is where we started our lives.

The official history of Whitley Bay goes like this... the town got its name in 1901, after years of confusion with Whitby further down the coast. By then, the railway was already bringing visitors from Newcastle for days beside the sea, helping Whitley grow into a popular seaside resort. St Mary’s Lighthouse and, later, the Spanish City became local landmarks, cementing Whitley Bay as one of the North East coast’s most recognisable towns.

Made from soft organic cotton with a touch of stretch, our Whitley Bay beanie has a classic fisherman-style rib and foldable brim for a comfortable, easy fit. Perfect for a wander along the Links, a walk by the sea or those days when the wind coming off the North Sea has other ideas about your hair.

Each beanie is finished with embroidered “Whitley Bay Est. 1901” detailing - a little nod to our hometown and more than a century of Whitley Bay history.
