Tynemouth holds a special place in our hearts in the Norsh family - it’s where our grandparents met at a dance at the Plaza in the 1950s, so without Tynemouth, quite literally, there’d be no us (and definitely no Norsh). Our Tynemouth Est. 625 AD Tote Bag is our little nod to a place that’s been part of our family story for generations.

The official history goes back *quite* a bit further than ours... Tynemouth’s headland has more than 2,000 years of history, with tradition dating its first monastery to around 625 AD. It went on to become the burial place of Northumbrian kings, survive Viking raids and develop into the Priory and Castle that still watches over the mouth of the Tyne today.

Made from sturdy 100% recycled cotton canvas, our Tynemouth tote bag has plenty of room for the everyday stuff you somehow end up carrying around. Bottom and side gussets give you extra space, while long reinforced handles make it easy to throw over your shoulder - ideal for a wander around Tynemouth Market, a trip to Longsands or a mooch down Front Street.

Each tote is finished with a black printed “Tynemouth Est. 625 AD” design - a little nod to more than a thousand years of history on our stretch of the North East coast.
